You Can Have a Creative Speaker at Your Next Event

I prefer to book engagements 6 to 8 weeks in advance to allow those who would like to purchase a book for signing enough time to do so.

I do not bring books for purchase to the event but will provide ordering information, author bios and speaking information at the time of booking.

Call Maria at  951-347-3715  or email her at maria@mariapease.com to schedule her to speak at your event or for additional information.

The Benefits of Having a Guest Speaker

There are many benefits of having a guest speaker. The fresh ideas, engaging style and the power to illustrate key points are just a few. Having a creative speaker is also:

  • A great way to provide information to your group in a new and fun way.
  • Break up the monotony of the regular routine.
  • Engage the audience and teach new ideas.
  • Adds to and supports subjects they want to know more about.
  • Gives the audience the opportunity to learn from someone who has personal experience.
  • Allows for question & answer sessions and encourages participation.
  • It's fun!

How To Prepare For a Guest Speaker

In order to be sure the visit is beneficial, planning is vital. Here are some tips to consider when planning to have a guest speaker at your next event.

  • Clearly identify your objectives in inviting the guest speaker such as what you want the focus of the visit to be.
  • Obtain additional information and/or biographical sketch in advance to prepare an appropriate and hopefully, an enthusiastic introduction.
  • Plan for the guest speaker at least 2 months in advance. This is most important for authors so the audience can purchase books for author signing if they are interested in doing so.
  • Discuss with the speaker, well in advance, exactly what you would like addressed in the presentation and your time parameters.
  • Clarify the speaker's thoughts on accepting questions.
  • Confirm by telephone or email the guest speaker's presentation several days in advance.

The most important aspect of hosting a guest speaker is to

PLAN AHEAD!

Provide the speaker as many details as possible in terms of the chosen subject of the presentation and format of the presentation (interactive, informative), the time frame available, introductions, the audience interests and experience and the expected attendance.

Then Enjoy!

Choosing a creative speaker who is knowledgeable and fun will ensure that your event will be a great success!

Testimonials

"A cardinal rule of writing to follow is, never write your own back cover copy. Why? You’re too close to the work and can’t be objective. Enter Maria Pease.

I contracted her services to write the back cover copy for my upcoming novel, Crossing Lives. The only caveat was, my manuscript was nowhere near finished.  Despite this obstacle, Maria took on the project.

Most copywriters won’t touch this type of project unless you can furnish them with a copy of the entire work to be summarized.

In a span of three weeks, with just a few chapters and handful of character sketches to go by, she was able to craft a masterful blurb that captured the essence of the story I’m trying to tell.

Maria communicated with me on consistent basis and took a personal interest in my project. This was a pleasant surprise. Most “work for hire” is cold, aloof, and distant.

I highly recommend Maria Pease for all your copywriting needs."

"I needed a website for my new practice and I had no time or skills to do it myself. Thank goodness I met Maria through a business associate.

She had my site up and running in no time. She even gave me some suggestions on how to make some affiliate income along with the service I provide.

If you need a writer who listens to what you want and gives great ideas on how to improve it, call Maria. You won't be disappointed."
